Flight 1 (5 Notes)

2004 Renato Ratti Barolo Marcenasco (Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo) - 91 Points The nose had blackberry and stone, a little cherry and earth, an
d some cedar at the end. The palate was soft, with lots of blackberry and cedar, some cherry, and some mocha on the finish.

2008 Guidobono Barbera d'Alba (Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Barbera d'Alba) - 89 Points The nose had cherry and green vegetables, a little pepper, and some candied raspberry on the finish. The palate was very rich, with cherry, asparagus and lettuce, and a good pepper finish.

2005 Orsolani Erbaluce di Caluso La Rustia (Italy, Piedmont, Northern Piedmont, Erbaluce di Caluso) - 88 Points The nose lots of fruit. I got melon, peach, apple, and citrus. It also had some pretty nice floral notes. The palate had the same fruit and floral notes as the nose. It also had some grapefruit on the finish.

2007 Prunotto Dolcetto d'Alba 87 (Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba) - Points The nose had syrup covered cherries mixed with spice and earth. The palate had good acidity. It had sour cherry, spice, and a little earth on the finish.

2008 Michele Chiarlo Gavi Le Marne (Italy, Piedmont, Gavi) - 86 Points The nose had loads of peaches and flowers, with a bunch of tropical fruits underneath. The palate was crisp, and had tropical fruit and floral notes. There was a little vanilla on the finish.

2005 Giovanni Corino Barolo Vigna Giachini (Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo) - 93 Points The nose had blackberry and mushroom, earth and raspberry, nad a little vanilla at the end. The palate was a bit tannic, but it did have have good dark fruit with lots of earthy undertones.

2005 Cantina Terlan Gewürztraminer Alto Adige - Südtirol Lunare (Italy, Trentino-Alto Adige, Alto Adige, Alto Adige - Südtirol) - 90 Points The nose was creamy and had lots of exotic asian spices. It also had a lot of pineapple and mango fruit. The palate was rich, and had loads of tropical fruit mixed with spice and cream. It finished with some floral notes.
