2007 Olson Ogden Syrah Napa / Sonoma

**2007 Olson Ogden Syrah Napa / Sonoma (USA, California, North Coast, Napa / Sonoma)** The nose had lots of dusty raspberry, with hints of blueberry and smoke, and some tar and vanilla. The palate was rich and slightly sweet, and had blueberry, raspberry, tar, pepper, vanilla, and good smoky finish. (91 pts.)

  1. Hi Mike, this wine has a bit of grenache in it...could you tell? Raspberry is usually the tell for me on grenache and I see you got that in the wine. Nice note, btw. Glad you enjoyed this wine too!

  2. The dusty raspberry on the nose made me think there might be another Rhone varietal mixed in, but I wasn't sure what it was. Nice to now know.

    Your Syrahs are always some of favorites, so they're easy to enjoy. :)
